HOW Loyal Paws dog training started
I started Loyal Paws because I have a dream and a passion. My dream is that all dogs no matter their owners location, career, or life style get a solid foundation of basic training so your family dog, can be a well mannered successful part of your family & community. My passion, is for dogs and their over all mental and physical well being.
In 2016 I saw a need for dog training to be more accessible and affordable while I was working with a local rescue. So many dogs were surrendered due to lack of training and unwanted behaviours. I want to help owners train their dogs, no matter their location – so dogs can be successful in their forever homes.
Once my husband and I moved to Lynn Lake, in northern Manitoba, I wanted to create an online training world where I could follow my passion to help owners with their dogs, anywhere they are – and that is my primary goal today!
Now, living in southern Manitoba while my goals are still the same today, I strive to create a positive and engaging online training community that you can come to whenever you need it.
What kind of trainer are you?
I am a Proactive trainer who focuses on what we can do to prevent behaviours and situations from happening VS. waiting for them to happen and reacting to them. This helps us protect and maintain the human and canine bond while we work towards the training goal!
I have always had the strong belief that all dogs learn in different ways and at different paces. I always let the dog decide what is reinforcing and what is aversive. All dogs are different, and deserve to be treated as individuals when it comes to creating a training plan for them. We want successful training outcomes, which ultimately means a happy dog who is learning successfully because the training strategy is made to suit them. That is what I strive for at Loyal Paws.
I am always going to offer you sound, honest and positive training advice that aligns with positive science based training techniques we see all over today!
Our Mission
At Loyal Paws, I have made it my mission to make professional and trust worthy dog training advice easily accessible. Your location, rural or city shouldn’t make you feel alone when it comes to training your own puppy or dog. Your busy schedule and family life, your work schedule – be it shift work or regular ol’ 9-5 – should not affect your ability to gain the proper knowledge to train your pup. I have also made it my personal goal to help dog owners feel surrounded by support during the training process so they don’t feel frustrated or alone. It is never to late to start training, and I am here to help!

Amber Buhler
FOUNDER & CERTIFIED TRAINER
My name is Amber Buhler, and I am a certified dog trainer. I graduated Animal Beahviour College in 2014, and have been gaining experience and knowledge ever since.
Currently, my husband and I have 4 dogs of our own. Rambo, Nova, Storm & Ranger. We live near Emerson Manitoba and I have created Loyal Paws in the hope to reach out to owners and help them train their pup from their own home. Yes, it is possible!
I have always been fascinated with dogs, how they learn and grow as a being and what makes them tick. Since age 14, I have studied through books, seminars, videos and following other trainers as well as helping dogs in my neighborhood. As soon as I was able to get certification in dog training I enrolled at ABC. I continue to gain knowledge by following seminars and keeping up with the latest in the dog training world. I am currently enrolled in Canine Correspondence Studies to achieve my certification in Professional dog training and Behaviour & Aggression Therapy. I also plan on joining some professional dog training memberships to stay on top of all the knowledge I can when it comes to dogs!
In my free time, you will find me working on our farm, playing with the pups and enjoying southern living with my family! I also love movies and TV, and enjoy training my own dogs as well. I hope this helped you get to know me! I am looking forward to connecting with all my future fellow dog training families!
